19 Popular TV Shows That Ended Up Like Garbage
You know that feeling of entire heartbreak when one of your favorite shows gradually gets worse and worse?
Well, a Reddit user asked the question, “Which TV show began out promising, but ended up like to be garbage?”
And there were a lot of amazing responses! Here are a few of the to-voted answers:
1. Once Upon a Time
“I can’t get over the actuality that characters kept changing sides, as though all the work they had done to build trust and make relationships was immediately pointless. Or instantly the betrayal that the character made definite episodes before didn’t matter; they were justified by the goodness of the fact that they simply liked to come back to the good guys over. That level of relationship dynamics was so impartial that it broke the excitement of the show for me.”
2. Revolution
A fascinating premise: Our world and electricity could not be used anymore. But man, by the last episode, it was completely something else.
3. Pretty Little Liars
This show is started as a fun show. The plot and writing went declining within the first few seasons. It became boring all over the place. I still deny watching the last season due to the writing becoming awful. And, can we all agree that the Ezra/Aria plotline was so unneeded, inappropriate, and gross?
4. Arrow
You could tell Arrow was aimed to only be a few seasons, but then it just quite snowballed. I just stop watching it after like 5 seasons because it was so weird.
5. How to Get Away With Murder
So much potential at first, but it all dismisses into nonsense and elongates the series truly without reason. It was very understandably shown with a formula that they stuck with WAY too hard. It is one thing to have an alike plot; it’s another thing to exactly copy and paste every plot point in every season, five times in a row.
6. The 100
The 100 was really good initially, then ended as garbage. Season one was a little bit of a teen drama, but Season 2 and 3 were actually good. Then, the show turned actually weird, despite having much potential.
7. Dexter
Dexter is my honestly favorite show of all time, but Season 8 was shit.
8. Under the Dome
I enjoyed the book and gave the TV show a real shot right up till they presented a new character who had “ just been in a basement the constantly.” The initial episodes were quite good but gradually it got less fascinating and more stupid.
9. The Walking Dead
The Walking Dead started off as an amazing show and then just became a rinse and repeat of “ Oh, there are more human survivors. We will clash and then destroy each other.
10. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina
I just loved everyone in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina but then, it just started wired, almost like Riverdale. It could have been much better. I quit watching midway through the second season.
11. American Gods
In the beginning, this TV show was amazon and actually kept me invested for the two seasons. But it get boring after Orlando left and then I just kept hearing awful things about how it was after the scenes. The show had many potentials and it got screwed terribly.
12. Heroes
This TV show was very amazing in the beginning but it proceededdown quickly after that.
13. Stitchers
Just Imagine: A device is designed to see into the last memories of dead people and a company uses this technology to solve murders. The woman who has to remember the murders is the daughter of the originator, whom she is estranged from. So this girl is solving the mystery of murders and trying to discover her intellectual dad. Makes for some dusty drama, right? No, it was just a love triangle among the girl and her coworkers. I watch this show for scientific crime-solving, dammit!
14. True Blood
The first two seasons stayed good and close to books but as the show went on, something happened where it just go downhill.
15. Weeds
It’s an amazing concept to have a suburban soccer mom selling weed but I did not sign up for a cartel show and after that, it never found a nice storyline again.
16. Designated Survivor
The earlier version had an amazing premise but I think it was too trapped by the limitation of cable TV formatting. Ended up being more of a soap opera that goes nowhere and said little.
17. Misfits
Nathan leaving began the diminish. And when the last of the initial five went, it was dead in the water.
18. Orange Is the New Black
In this TV show when Poussey died, they should have just ended it. It is a sad ending but also very appropriate since it is about an American prison.
19. And finally, Riverdale
A TV show about a group of teenagers who grow up in a small town in America. Except, there are suicide pacts, mafia, people faking their deaths, illegal fight clubs, serial killers, children with a lot of money, underground bunkers, secret societies, and dragons. In each episode, you are amazed by a new adventure that still somehow manages to be even more moronic than what came before.
